Neutral Protamine Hagedorn (NPH) insulin, also known as isophane insulin, is an intermediate-acting insulin formulation designed to help control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. It is produced by combining insulin with protamine at a neutral pH, and represents one of the earliest examples of engineered drug delivery.
