About this list
List I chemicals under the US Controlled Substances Act (21 CFR § 1310.02(a)), administered by the Drug Enforcement Administration. List I covers chemicals that are important to the manufacture of controlled substances — ephedrine-class substances, fentanyl precursors such as 4-anilinopiperidine and NPP, and amphetamine-type intermediates including BMK/PMK glycidic-acid derivatives. Handlers face DEA registration, record-keeping, reporting and import/export requirements. The listing reflects the section as amended through the P2P methyl glycidic acid rule effective May 2026; where the regulation names salts, esters or isomers, ChemAbout lists the named parent substance rather than expanding every form.
