About this list
The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer controls ozone-depleting substances such as CFCs, halons, carbon tetrachloride, methyl chloroform, HCFCs, HBFCs, methyl bromide and related groups. The protocol is administered through the UNEP Ozone Secretariat and has been amended over time, including the Kigali Amendment for HFC phase-down.
