Intermediate for isocyanates and organic chemicals
Carbonyl dichloride is a highly reactive chemical compound primarily used as an intermediate in the production of isocyanates and other organic chemicals. It is also formed through the thermal or photodecomposition of chlorinated hydrocarbons, such as during welding or firefighting, and poses significant toxicity risks.
