3-Methyl-2-hexenoic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid that is a malodorous component found in human sweat, notably associated with the sweat of individuals with schizophrenia. It is structurally an alpha,beta-unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and a conjugate acid of (2E)-3-methylhex-2-enoate.
