Emtricitabine is a nucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitor used as an active pharmaceutical ingredient in the manufacturing of medications for HIV infection. It is an analog of the nucleoside cytidine and is supplied as a pharmaceutical raw material for formulation development.
