Imetelstat is an oligonucleotide telomerase inhibitor used as an anti-cancer medication for myelodysplastic syndromes with transfusion-dependent anemia. It works by blocking telomerase activity, leading to telomere shortening and inhibition of malignant stem and progenitor cell proliferation.
