Selective herbicide for maize
Mesotrione is a selective herbicide primarily used in maize cultivation. It was developed as a synthetic analogue of the natural compound leptospermone from the bottlebrush tree and acts by inhibiting the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD).
