Met-enkephalin (also known as metenkefalin or opioid growth factor) is a naturally occurring endogenous opioid peptide with a relatively short duration of action. It is one of the two forms of enkephalin and serves as a primary endogenous ligand for the δ-opioid receptor, exhibiting high potency and selectivity for this site.
