Carnosine, D- is a dipeptide molecule composed of the amino acids beta-alanine and D-histidine. It is a research compound structurally related to naturally occurring L-carnosine, which is highly concentrated in muscle and brain tissues and was discovered by Russian chemist Vladimir Gulevich.
