Ac-WEHD-AFC is a fluorogenic substrate specifically designed for caspase assays, commonly used in apoptosis research. It contains a tetrapeptide sequence (Ac-WEHD) linked to a fluorescent AFC (7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin) reporter group, which upon enzymatic cleavage releases a fluorescent signal.
