It is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 3 substance, meaning that current evidence is inadequate to classify its carcinogenicity in humans, and evidence in experimental animals is either inadequate or limited, with exceptional cases where animal carcinogenicity is not considered relevant to humans.
