Cefcapene pivoxil hydrochloride monohydrate is the hydrate hydrochloride salt form of cefcapene pivalate, a third-generation cephalosporin prodrug with antibacterial activity. Following oral administration, the ester bond is cleaved to release the active drug cefcapene.
