28-Homobrassinolide is a brassinosteroid plant growth regulator, belonging to the class of polyhydroxysteroids recognized as a sixth class of plant hormones. It was first explored in the 1970s for its role in promoting stem elongation and cell division in plants, and has since been investigated for potential utility in treating endocrine-responsive cancers by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cancerous growth.
