Peptide YY (PYY), also known as peptide tyrosine tyrosine, is a short peptide released from cells in the ileum and colon in response to feeding. It acts as an appetite reducing agent in the blood, gut, and other peripheral elements, and when injected into the central nervous system, it also reduces appetite.
