Monocrotophos is an organophosphate compound formerly used as an insecticide and acaricide in agriculture. It was applied to control pests on crops such as cotton, sugarcane, peanuts, tobacco, and ornamentals, but all uses were cancelled in the United States in 1988 due to high toxicity to birds and mammals.
