Relebactam

Relebactam is a diazabicyclooctane beta-lactamase inhibitor, structurally similar to avibactam, and serves as an active pharmaceutical ingredient used in combination with imipenem and cilastatin. It features a piperidine ring that imparts a positive charge, reducing bacterial export, and was approved by the FDA in 2019 as part of the Recarbrio® combination product for treating complicated urinary tract infections, pyelonephritis, and complicated intra-abdominal infections in adults.
