2-Naphthylamine, also known as 2-aminonaphthalene, is a colorless solid that turns reddish upon exposure to air due to oxidation. It was historically used as an intermediate in the production of azo dyes but is now recognized as a carcinogen and has been largely replaced by safer alternatives.
