Dideoxy GTP is a dideoxynucleotide triphosphate used as a chain-terminating inhibitor in the Sanger method of DNA sequencing. It lacks hydroxyl groups at the 2' and 3' positions of the ribose sugar, preventing further DNA strand elongation by DNA polymerase.
