Cyclic di-GMP (c-di-GMP) is a bacterial second messenger that regulates signal transduction in a wide variety of bacteria. It acts as an allosteric activator of cellulose synthase in Gluconacetobacter xylinus, playing a key role in microbial cellulose production.
