Methomyl is a carbamate ester insecticide and acaricide that acts as a cholinesterase inhibitor, used in agriculture to control a variety of pests. It is an aliphatic sulfide and a carbamate ester derived from methylcarbamic acid and 1-(methylsulfanyl)acetaldoxime.
