Mosapride is a racemic compound composed of equal amounts of (R)- and (S)-mosapride. It acts as a gastroprokinetic agent by stimulating 5-HT4 receptors in the gastrointestinal plexus, enhancing acetylcholine release to improve gastrointestinal motility and gastric emptying.
